The North Derbyshire Motor Club

I have been a member since 1978. 

I met Norman three years ago and he had been involved in the motor club for many years, so I joined and got the bug. I am now the press secretary. Between us Norman and I have 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

We love to go on holiday, especially abroad.

My son and his wife have also joined us at the club and my 3 year old grandaughter loves to ride in the back of the car on the trials.

I rode my 1951 Douglas Vespa from 1953-60, 6300 miles in Europe in 1957, gold plaque ACU National Rally (600 miles 24 hours) in 1959. I had an ex WD Norton from 1958-81 when it was stolen. I still have my first car a 1932 Morris Minor tourer bought for £5 in 1959 (still in London). I drove her to Moscow & Yalta in 1960 and Turkey & Greece in 1961. I still use my 1927 20 hp R-R and drove to London in Feb to bring back my one owner 1962 Austin Cooper on a trailer. The mini has done 152,000 miles 11,500 on a trip to Egypt in 1965 and has just been put back on the road after 40 years I have towed my 1967 15/2 Safari caravan for 20,000 miles since 1994. 3 trips to Poland (1995 & 2002) and one along & over the Alps in 1997. A solo trip in the R-R to central Italy in 2009 for family wedding duties - lots more Alps!

I'm Miller, 26 and a huge car fan.

Torn between two conflicting interests:- my love of cars, and of beer. As I get even older the beer usually wins. Still enjoy a bit of polishing though.
